What Does IP65 Mean for a Sauna Red Light Panel?

IP ratings describe how an electrical enclosure protects against solid objects and water ingress. The system is defined by IEC 60529.

For IP65:

  • the first digit, 6, means the enclosure is dust-tight;
  • the second digit, 5, means it is protected against water jets under the applicable test conditions.

That makes IP65 materially different from a panel without a documented ingress protection rating. It is one part of the SL280 design for compatible high-humidity indoor installations.
