LED Red Light Therapy
What is Red Light Therapy?
Red light is the most extensively utilized wavelength in LED phototherapy, with most devices operating within the 620–660 nm range. This non-invasive and non-thermal modality employs red light to penetrate the skin tissue, where it stimulates cellular activity, enhances mitochondrial function, and promotes tissue regeneration and repair.
This wavelength of light has strong penetrative ability, reaching deep into the dermis and even the subcutaneous tissue. It has been shown to significantly improve skin issues such as aging, fine lines, and sagging.Red light therapy is widely used in the fields of skincare, inflammation reduction, and wound healing.
How Does LED Red Light Therapy Work?
Red light has a deeper penetration depth (up to 2–10 mm), allowing it to reach the dermis and even approach the subcutaneous fat layer.
It stimulates cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, enhancing ATP production, which accelerates cellular metabolism and repair. Red light also activates fibroblasts, boosting the production of collagen and elastin to strengthen skin structure and elasticity.
Rather than directly destroying tissue, red light enhances the body’s natural healing and repair mechanisms by improving cellular energy metabolism and promoting blood circulation.
Key Benefits:
Boosts Collagen: Firms skin and reduces wrinkles.
Speeds Healing: Aids recovery from burns, surgery, and wounds.
Reduces Inflammation & Pain: Helps relieve arthritis, muscle soreness, and nerve pain.
Stimulates Hair Growth: Reactivates hair follicles, improving density and quality.
Supports Oral Healing: Eases dental discomfort and promotes tissue repair.
